Prayers always appreciated!

Just a quick update on our adoption process for all who are interested. We are again closing in on having our dossier documents completed. We have several outstanding items that either need to be redone or updated. We'd appreciate all the prayers you could offer that all goes smoothly and we get this done quickly.

As for the garden, it seems to be going pretty well and I'm cautiously optimistic. Yes, Shane, we Floridians CAN grow gardens just about whenever we want to. And we complain about 60 degree weather too. But all in all, we aren't too bad! :)

My blogging has been pretty inconsistent (if not non-existent) lately since our computer crashed at home. I am trying to keep the blogs updated but, really, there's not been a lot to report. God willing, we will be updating like crazy with a bunch of really great news in the near future!

Mary Mary, Quite Contrary...

Can we make a garden grow?

I have my doubts, but we're giving it a try!

Day 1:

Starting from seeds...

Day 5:

First Sprouts...

Day 7:

Making progress...

Well, we haven't scrapped the project yet so that's something, I guess.

WARNING - pathetic rant of a pampered South Floridian to follow....

It's cold. Seriously, it's like 60 degrees - which somewhere deep in the recesses of my mind registers as a decent day but those recesses have iced over in the frigid last couple of days - and my nose is running I'm so cold. Before you start, I get that the vast majority of the country would kill for 60 degrees right now but, hello? The sprinklers were freezing icecicles on the plants and the slides at the daycare had ice on them yesterday. Ice. This is SOUTH FLORIDA people...we do don't ice.

My best friend is under snow. I am jealous. If it's going to be cold I want to be able to pile on all the clothes that one would own in a climate where such temperatures are to be expected and go sledding. I don't have those kinds of clothes. Why? Two words: South Florida. As it is, I found myself just a few minutes ago in my bedroom scampering out of my warmest PJ-like clothes into several layers of halfway reasonable clothing to keep warm literally yelling out loud "I just don't know how to function in this weather anymore!!!" My dog lifted an ear and my cat rolled her eyes.

Okay, I got that off my chest and I'm done. I know it's pathetic but don't say I didn't warn you.
