Bloggy Brainstorm

Ok, Mamis, I could use a little help. Here we are about three weeks into our unknown wait. We could be waiting a few weeks, a few months, a year...who knows. But while I wait, I am compiling packing lists and trying to get organized for when it's time to get ready to travel. Those of you who have already made the trip to Colombia can help me BIG TIME if you don't mind. (And those of you who are still waiting like us, we can brainstorm together if you're willing!) It's a really easy list of questions, actually, and you can email me the answers or leave them in comments. PLEASE and THANK YOU! You're the greatest!

1) What did you with you that you ended up not needing?

2) What did you take that you should have bought once you got there?

3) What did you not have that you REALLY wish you had?

4) Did you use traveler's checks?

I look forward to hearing from you -- I appreciate your help!

It's a Repost -- but it's worth it!

I originally posted this back on November 13, 2008. I love this video. I heard the song in English and loved the lyrics (just wish I remembered the name). Look at those precious faces! I am SO looking forward to seeing the face of our newest child. We're getting closer.

"Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act" Proverbs 24:12

This is a video from Reece's Rainbow. It took me several times through to be able to translate all of the slides but I loved it from the moment I saw it on Meredith's blog back in October. I hope you enjoy it too.

Usually late night phone calls make me nervous...

but late last night I got a phone call that we've been waiting for (but not at all expecting this soon!) We received official word from our agency that ICBF has APPROVED our dossier and we are now just waiting to be matched with our baby. Thank you, Lord, for taking us through this step so quickly and on to the "official" wait for our child.

The Little Sunflower that COULD!

This little guy is now my favorite sunflower. When all the other sunflowers were growing by inches (even feet!) a day this little guy just wasn't getting any bigger. He was green, but not strong and perky like the others. I'd just about given him up for dead but refused to pull him out of the bed. Slowly, his stem grew longer, but still lay on the ground instead of sprouting straight up like the others. Over time, he was all but forgotten amid the 6 to 10 foot sunflowers with their big and impressive sunny heads. Until this week -- just LOOK at that gorgeous little bloom! His stem is still not as big and sturdy as the others; he still only stands about 6 inches off the ground when his bedmates are 6 - 10 feet tall, even though his stem is over two feet long; he's not the tallest or the largest or the showiest sunflower in the bed but he's my favorite.
Isn't he beautiful?
